Director’s Note
I take my hat off to the Creators of this Musical Play. They have created a fantastic and wonderful platform for our Youth to shine like the stars they deserve to be. During the rehearsals it was a beautiful experience to see the wonder in their eyes as they finally conquer a song or a dance move-when they realize that they can also achieve-that they can also be of value to society. The teenagers in this production can stand up and proudly say: “Hey! You know what; I’ve conquered drugs! I’ve conquered apathy!”
Nathan’s story is the story of many youngsters all over the world. How many of us have wanted to leave home and go out and “find ourselves”. We’ve all felt that our parents were just nagging when they were really trying to guide and protect. Everything begins at home because that is your first place of learning. If the principles and values you received at home were solid: you stand a good chance of surviving in a world that has lost respect; a world where the “self” has replaced the “we” and “money”, God.
This Musical Play emphasises the power of God in the home and the fact that the premise and the journey of our life should be based and plotted around that Power. But what of the people and many children that do not have God, hope or a home? The Musical Play therefore underlines the fact that we are very fortunate and must not abuse that which some do not have. Most importantly: it also tells us that we must go out there in the Jungle of Life and create a home and a foundation for those that are not as fortunate as we are.
Everybody needs a place too which they can go back to. A place where they can lick their wounds. A place where someone can pat them on the back and say; “Well done!” or “Go try again.”
A place that we can call Home. A place where you can securely and happily say: “This is where I want to be. This is where I should be. Forever Home!”

We are extremely grateful to the Irish Missionary Resource Service for pledging their
support towards the development of our project. The funding we have received from
the IMRS has enabled us to purchase equipment and provide training for the cast and
crew of FOREVER HOME. In this way, we have been able to take FOREVER
HOME beyond just a stage performance such that it is an instrument of empowerment
for all who have participated in this vision.
The Irish Missionary Resource Service is committed to supporting initiatives that
challenge injustice and eliminates poverty. In so doing, they empower and enable
people to be agents of their own destinies.
